Interactive AI audio generation instrument | 2025

GuiQin is a virtual instrument/interface that uses IRCAM’s RAVE AI-generation model. It is built around a custom dataset consisting of both classical guitar and guqin recordings. Designed as a standalone instrument, the GuiQin aims to provide a user-friendly way to explore and experiment with an AI audio generation model. It allows for several interactive modes with the model itself, an effect-chain, and a wide variety of MIDI-assignable controls.
It requires Cycling ’74’s Max/MSP, IRCAM’s nn~ Max/MSP package, and the pre-trained GuiQin RAVE model. More information is available on the GitHub repository.
